A spin on the 'Princess in the Tower' scenario..
I had recurring nightmares about a yellow room as a child...
The child reading was my son Frank who was 5 at the time...

"Her tired, yellow fingers pulled at the faded cream material and pulled it a fraction of an inch, just enough to see outside. Even though it was busy, the grey street was cold and lifeless.
As a girl, she had played happily on this street, but now she dreamed only of escape.
The barest flicker of a smile touched her face. Something told her that today her wait would at last be over..."
